Class Description: This class will pay special attention to your dog’s obedience proficiency and advancement. It is only recommended you take this class if you are committed to having excellent obedience skills with your dog. A Therapy Dog by definition is; a dog that is trained to provide affection, comfort, and support to people, often in settings such as hospitals, retirement homes, nursing homes, schools, libraries, hospices, or disaster areas. In contrast to assistance dogs, which are trained to assist specific patients with their day-to-day physical needs, therapy dogs are trained to interact with all kinds of people, not just their handlers.
Our Therapy Dog class is specifically designed for you and your dog to work on the obedience skills needed to pass the Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dog Test. Testing will be offered to qualifying dogs upon the completion of this course.
For more information on the Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dog Program visit Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dogs | Therapy Dogs – Training & Certification
In order to qualify your dog needs to be able to complete the required exercises on a buckle collar. Additional testing fees will apply when dog & handler teams are tested.
